How to follow Chicago Marathon runners live on Oct. 11

Friends and families following runners in the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon can use a race-day tracking app and live video coverage to keep up with the event on Sunday, Oct. 11. The marathon takes place in Chicago with its start in Grant Park, giving local spectators and supporters watching from home several ways to share in the day.

Organizers say the ChMarathon app offers live tracking of an unlimited number of runners on race day. It is available through Google Play and Apple's App Store. For supporters following several participants, that means they can use the same app to keep track of more than one friend, relative or teammate.

The app also includes an interactive course map and participant bib information, according to organizers. Those features bring runner details and the route into one place, making the app a useful companion for people planning to watch along the course as well as those following remotely.

NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago will carry live race coverage on television and online. Viewers can also watch through NBC Chicago's YouTube channel and the NBC 5 Chicago News streaming channel. That streaming channel is available on services including Peacock, Roku TV, Fire TV, Samsung TV Plus, Xumo Play, Local Now, Pluto, Google TV, TCL, Xfinity and FreeVee.

A separate finish-line camera will stream from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on NBCChicago.com and the NBC 5 Chicago News streaming channel. The feed gives supporters a way to watch runners complete the race, including those who are cheering elsewhere along the route and want to follow the finish on a device.

Spanish-language coverage will be available on TelemundoChicago.com and through the Telemundo Chicago app. Marathon weekend also includes the Abbott Chicago 5K in Grant Park on Saturday, Oct. 10. Organizers reported a record number of applications for this year's marathon, adding to the anticipation for Sunday's event.
